Synacor, Inc. Buffalo, NY 14203 Currently positioned as a GUI Programmer Level II, I am responsible for creating front-end interfaces for web-based, database driven Internet systems for the provisioning of e-communication products such as portals, email and calendaring. I came to Synacor (formerly Chek.com) as their first official Webmaster in charge of developing and maintaining their online presence. This included their corporate site as well as their intranet and marketing/promotion sites. As time went on, the focus of the company changed several times and the websites took a back seat to the products and I was moved into a programmer’s position working with PHP and MySQL to help develop their current product line.

Canisius College

Employed as the very first Webmaster for Canisius College, I was responsible for organizing a very large site that encompassed every department of the school. It was my charge to take over the entire website from several different employees and departments to bring together a cohesive site that was rich in up-to-date information as well as improving the Admissions and Alumni sections which were very important to the college. I also performed extensive Internet training in either one-on-one to entire department situations as well as taught classes in HTML design each semester. I sat as co-chair of the college’s Academic Computing Advisory Committee as well as created the first online newsletter for the staff of Canisius College called the NetGazette.

Buffalo, NY 14203 My primary duties included the design and maintenance of more that 80 award winning Internet Web Sites as well as teaching computer and Internet introductory courses around Western New York. My other duties included the upkeep and maintenance of more than 30 PC’s, 1 NT 3.51 Server, 2 NT 4.0 Servers and 2 Web Servers. This included all of the necessary hardware and software as well as the office phone systems and maintenance of the LAN and WAN Networks. I was involved in purchasing decisions as well as the overall network strategy and implementation. Edge Marketing was purchased by Choice One Communications out of Rochester, NY and renamed Choice One Online.

University at Buffalo Amherst Campus, Amherst NY My responsibilities included the support and maintenance of 17 Lecture Rooms including 5 ETEC Consoles that housed a Macintosh 7500, a Pentium 166 PC, a Sun Workstation and a Wolf Visualizer. Other responsibilities included network maintenance, software installation and instruction while being on-call to support both University locations during school hours.

Soft Bank Services Buffalo, NY 14203 My duties included Technical Support for the Internet Division of Intuit’s Quicken version 5, QuickBooks, and Turbo Tax 95, which came with Internet access. My responsibilities included troubleshooting computer-related problems and fixing it in a timely fashion over the phone. This would include anything from configuring Web Browsers to setting up Modems and PC Cards with IRQ conflicts.
